Our Team
Matthew M. Ballinger, DDS
Dr. Ballinger graduated with honors from The University of Maryland, School of Dentistry (consistently ranked in the top 5 dental school in the US and Canada) in 1999. After Dr. Ballinger was awarded a Health Professions Scholarship with the U.S. Army Dental Corps, he completed his Advanced General Dental Residency at the Landstuhl Army Medical Center. During rigorous Army dental residency training, he was exposed to high quality instruction and techniques in oral surgery and trauma, endodontic, orthodontic and periodontal therapies.
Dr. Ballinger went on to serve in the Dental Corps on active duty for four years, ultimately achieving the rank of Major. He was responsible for managing two separate dental clinics while in Germany as the Officer in Charge.
Before moving to the Berkshires, Dr. Ballinger spent six years in a busy suburban private practice outside of Baltimore, Maryland. He is Invisalign certified, is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the International Team of Implantology, and holds several certificates in soft tissue laser dentistry.
Dr. Ballinger’s state-of-the-art dental office is designed to enhance patient comfort and utilizes the latest in dental techniques and biocompatible dental materials. The office features digital radiography, reducing patient radiation exposure, allowing for patient viewing on large flat screen monitors and eliminating toxic chemical waste. The office also utilizes the industry’s leading dental computer software allowing for a paperless office, providing a concise and secure patient database allowing easy access of patient records and electronic consultation. In addition, the office features electric dental hand pieces, significantly reducing noise production, and incredibly comfortable chairs with an integrated massage option to enjoy during your treatment.
Dr. Ballinger is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry.
